Logitech Rally Bar vs Rally Bar Mini vs Rally Bar Huddle: which room is each for?

Logitech's three bars map directly to room size: Rally Bar Huddle for rooms of up to about 6 people, Rally Bar Mini for small to medium rooms of about 6 to 10, and Rally Bar for medium to large rooms of up to about 15 to 20, with the modular Rally Plus system beyond that. All three are certified for Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms and Google Meet and run as Android appliances or as USB peripherals to a Windows room PC.

From the floor. The spec sheet says people; the room says metres. A Rally Bar Mini in a 6 metre room frames the back row fine but the far-end voice drops off, and the fix is a mic pod, not a bigger bar. Past about 7 metres, or with a ceiling over 3 metres and hard walls, go to the Rally Bar with pods or straight to Rally Plus with ceiling microphones. (David Corker, Technical Sales Director)

When to step up

  • Room depth. Measure from the bar to the furthest seat: under about 4 metres, Huddle; 4 to 5 metres, Mini; 5 to 7 metres, Rally Bar with its optical zoom; beyond that, Rally Plus or a modular kit with ceiling microphones.
  • Dual displays. Only the Mini and Rally Bar drive two screens, so a room that wants content on one display and people on the other rules out the Huddle.
  • Divisible rooms. Two bars with a controller each, or a Rally Plus with a DSP, so audio can be combined and split with the partition.

Controller and installed cost

Every room needs a controller: Tap IP over PoE when the bar runs in appliance mode, or Tap over USB when the bar is a peripheral to a RoomMate or Windows PC. The device prices above are a fraction of the room: with display, mount, cabling, controller, commissioning and licence, a Rally Bar Huddle room sits inside the £3,000 to £8,000 huddle band and a Mini or Rally Bar room inside the £8,000 to £20,000 meeting room band; Rally Plus rooms are boardroom builds at £25,000 to £60,000+. Which bar goes where is settled at the site survey in a Microsoft Teams Rooms design; the same hardware serves a Zoom or Meet estate under the wider video conferencing systems choice.

Quick reference: Rally Bar Huddle for up to about 6 people and one display; Rally Bar Mini for 6 to 10 with dual displays and up to 2 mic pods; Rally Bar for 10 to 20 with 5x optical zoom and up to 3 mic pods; Rally Plus or a modular kit beyond 20 or past 7 metres.
