VC bar vs separate camera and microphone: which is better?

An integrated VC bar (Logitech Rally Bar, Poly Studio X70, Yealink MeetingBar A40) is better for small to mid-size meeting rooms up to roughly 12 people because it's faster to install, simpler to support and certifies cleanly against MTR, Zoom Rooms and Webex. A separate camera plus ceiling microphones plus DSP architecture is better for larger rooms, boardrooms and any space where audio quality across a long table is the priority.

The integrated VC bar wins on simplicity. One device, one network drop, one firmware lifecycle, one cloud monitoring entry. Logitech Sync, Poly Lens, Yealink Device Management and Cisco Control Hub all give estate-wide visibility of bar fleets. Install is fast because most of the system is already inside the bar.
The separate-component architecture wins on audio quality and on rooms larger than the bar can handle. Ceiling array microphones (Sennheiser TCC2, Shure MXA920) cover a 6 metre table evenly where a bar's integrated mics miss the back row. A Q-SYS Core 110f or Biamp Tesira Forte adds dedicated AEC, mix-minus, dynamics processing and zone control that the embedded DSP in a VC bar can't match. PTZ cameras give optical zoom and presenter-track that fixed bars can't.
The decision usually maps directly to room size and use. Standard meeting rooms up to 12 people pick a VC bar nine times out of ten because the audio quality is sufficient and the support and install economics are dramatically better. Anything 12+ or with critical audio (legal, board, executive briefing) needs the separate-component spec.
