Barco ClickShare is a wireless presentation and conferencing system: a base unit connected to the room display, plus USB-C buttons or the ClickShare app on the laptop, so anyone can share their screen without a cable. The Present range (C-5, C-10) shares content only. The Conference range (CX-20, CX-30, CX-50) also passes the room's camera, microphone and speakers through to the laptop, so a Teams, Zoom or Meet call running on the user's own machine uses the room AV. Choose C-5 or CX-20 for huddle rooms, CX-30 for standard rooms and CX-50 for large or dual-screen rooms.

From the floor. ClickShare earns its place in rooms with guests. A visiting client presses a button and is on screen in ten seconds, with no network credentials and no driver install, which is the one thing a native Teams Room cannot do for a laptop that is not on the tenant. In internal-only rooms that are always on Teams, the money is usually better spent on the room system. (David Corker, Technical Sales Director)

How it works

The button makes a direct, encrypted wireless link to the base unit without touching the corporate Wi-Fi, which is why IT teams accept it in guest-facing rooms; the app does the same over the network, and the base unit also accepts AirPlay, Miracast and Google Cast. On the Conference models, the base unit's USB ports take the room camera and speakerphone or bar, and the laptop sees them as its own devices. Firmware, usage reporting and configuration across an estate are handled in XMS Cloud.

ClickShare or a native Teams Room?

ClickShare suits BYOD rooms: any platform, any laptop, guests included, at a lower cost per room. A native Teams Room or Zoom Room suits rooms where one-touch join from the room calendar matters more than flexibility; the trade-off is set out in BYOD vs native room. Many estates run both, with a CX-50 alongside the room system in boardrooms so an external laptop can still present. Fitted with a display, mount and cabling, a ClickShare room sits inside the £3,000 to £8,000 huddle band or the £8,000 to £20,000 meeting room band. Model choice by room is covered under wireless presentation systems and settled in the wider meeting room AV design.

Quick reference: ClickShare = base unit on the display + USB-C buttons or app; C-5 and C-10 (Present) share content only, CX-20, CX-30 and CX-50 (Conference) also pass the room camera, mics and speakers to the laptop's Teams or Zoom call; C-5 or CX-20 for huddle rooms, CX-30 for standard rooms, CX-50 for large or dual-screen rooms; managed in XMS Cloud.
